Hi guys....just bought a pair of rear wheel bearings thinking I might need them....no real proof yet but there is a sound back there from somewhere. So after shopping I realize that it is difficult to find German made FAG bearings....so I source some but the only ones I could find are 20 years old and I am told that this is a good thing quality wise. Anyway there is a black line on the outside of the outside of the bearing about a 16th of an inch from one of the edges of the bearing.....should this side go in first or stay on the outside as you put the bearing in the hub? Just curious and love to do things correctly. Also given the recent video of new bearings not having enough grease in them when I asked should I take these apart and add grease I was told, rather succinctly, "Don't touch 'em". All comments welcome.....thank you very much.

The bearings don't care which side goes in first.
