Does anyone have general dimensions for max distance between the outer CV faces at zero, plus twelve, minus twelve degree angles?
I read that the stock 914 CV's are basically the same as a VW type 1, and on blind chicken racing the max angle is 12 degrees.
I have to build custom trailing arms for my sandrail project and need to develop the 3D suspension travel geometry that ensures I do not exceed the CV capacity throughout the range of motion.
If I have to I will just physically measure the parts, but it would be helpful if anyone who has already found this information could share. Yes, I am aware the 3D geometry along with camber, toe, etc needs to be calculated, but these general dimensions will get me 99% of the way there.
Thanks
I think guys are using 930cv’s for more angle and strength in Syncro Vanagons
Swap over to 930 CV's or you are asking for trouble. You may also want to go non-plunging with sliding axles.
