914World.com _ 914World Garage _ New windshield(s)

My windshield took a flying leap back on Dec. 27th, so I'm in the market for a new* one dry.gif

* If I can source a nice pre-owned one locally, I'm OK with that ... idea.gif

... but if not, is anybody on the west coast (either in So. Cal - Los Angeles/Orange Co., or possibly the Phoenix AZ area planning to purchase a new windshield from that company back east any time soon? - and want to split the shipping cost? confused24.gif

Let me know ... popcorn[1].gif

Mark, I am not there yet in my rebuild, but I will need a windshield in the future. I would really like to get one with the rounded top edge like the original shape. I don't know what is the latest on that.

Keep me posted on you findings, I might jump in with your buy to split cost. beerchug.gif

Good morning. We discussed this a couple weeks ago and it seems to be either a Chinese replica for fairly cheap or a Dealer sourced one for around $550. Sierra Madre claims to have new OEM once’s but they are priced like dealer.

I need one too, maybe SoCal group buy time?

I bought mine new from the Porsche dealership with a PCA discount.

Plus no shipping cost with the dealer

Hmmm I'm also a PCA member smile.gif ... What did it end up $ out of pocket, Rob? @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=3380

I wonder if a dealer would be open to group buy scenario? idea.gif

I want to say it was just over $300? Keep in mind though, it was probably, 15 years ago...

What was the cost on that?

I need a windshield for my bumblebee. After a week of looking, calling Porsche dealers and safelite, I was referred to a guy in upstate New York who specializes in classic car glass. He found one somewhere nearby and I'm picking it up on Wednesday. Not sure if the Covid supply chain is affecting glass but it sure seems so... Wishing the best of luck in the search to the OP!

Sorry but Richard at Pro source closed up shop a year or so ago.

Ummm....I thought I said that. Unfortunately a dead end at multiple dealerships.

@“Luke M” I’ll ask again but the guy said he found only one. Steve at seasoned auto glass in Hyde Park NY (845) 366-8903
