I need to pack up a type 4 engine case for shipping. How do I remove the dipstick tube?
Thanks

Mark I think these are a press fit,not sure if you can easily remove then without damage to the tube....if you can remove them @ all ?

I tried for my short block's trip to Cali. Couldn't get it out. So I packed around it very, very well and supported the engine on all sides...and FedEx clearly rolled the package through its warehouse, bending the tube.

Tape a slightly longer block of wood to it

I’ve removed the dipstick tube before on my engine. Lots of heat on the boss and tap it up using a block. Wasn’t easy. I was changing from the bus tube to the 914 tube.

In install I put the tube in the freezer and heated the hell out of the boss. Tapped the tube in no problem.
