Need your advice/opinion on the condition of these 1st/reverse gears (reuse or discard)? I have no running knowledge of the transmission other than a "stated" mileage of 46,000. The gearbox appears to have been taken apart at some point and the oil was clean. The gears appear to be in decent shape based on my inexperienced eye. Out of a 1973 1.7. Any help is appreciated.
Appreciate the look and advice. Has anyone ever taken a file to these to dress and shape up the teeth? Is it worth it?? I am I crazy or just cheap......??
the very first 914 trans I ever had rebuilt.... they guy in hindsight had no idea what he was doing.... he cleaned up and filed my 1st gear slider.
it lasted a few months...
replacement new or good used is the only way

Dog teeth are toast as well as the slider. I have new or good used if you want to save a few $$. DM me.
