914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rubber Boots for Side Shifter Tranny

Posted by: silver six Jul 21 2003, 02:02 PM

So I am missing the three boots that (1) cover the side shifter, (2) exit the side shifter, and (3) cover the firewall bushing through which the shift linkange travels. I think someone (Brad?) had mentioned that these rubber pieces are no longer made but that you could fabricate them.

How do I make these parts? See parts 22, 28, and 29 in diagaram below.

Number 29 doesnt fit your car... you need a OE early tailshift plastic "cup" and then adapt no. 29 to your car.

You should be able to buy all of them new..

I'll get the carpet to you this Saturday when I come down for the breakfast.

AA has them in stock as well. My car has been without those boots since I bought it... taking the time to get it right, while I have it apart. (Different boots for a /6, but I talked to George about the subject.)
