Saw this on my Facebook feed today. Both the twins (4 years old) immediately wanted a copy of the pic.
Certainly there is some great story behind this? Driver w/o shirt and in flip flops. Texas plates. At the border somewhere??? Anyone know who's car this is? Plates are very unique.

Someone posted here in the world about this picture. If I remember correctly it was taken down near the gulf before a hurricane hit the coast, the guards were there due to an evacuation order.

Looks like the seawall in Galveston, Texas although for the life of me, I cannot remember why the National Guard would have been called out... unless a hurricane was on its way in.
I would guess either Tropical Storm Elena or Claudette in 1979
Also like the Spitfire in the background.

The guy that posted it said it was he and his girlfriend driving through Texas after / during a hurricane.

I think the military was wary of the car when they could not find an engine in either the front or back trunks.
A great show. They modified a bug and had about 100gal fuel tank, Same gal asks for a fill up. the pump jockey was looking all over to figure out where it was going.

You wouldn't have to heal your toes if you didn't expose them in your flip flops in the first place.
