I'm looking to buy an ashtray for my '73 2.0 that I can tinker with (covert to an iPhone holder for nav). Will any 914 ashtray work?

I have my eye on an ashtray for sale from a '70.

Will it work without modifying?

Here is one I printed using a 3D printer and shoved a MagSafe mount from Belkin. Works amazing. Someone had the 3D files on the forum. I just modified them a bit fit my mount. Might be a better option.

Looks cool, but I do not own a 3D printer (nor do I know someone who does).
