Most guys don't use a 911 wheel in a 914 because they are pretty large in diameter and might rub your legs. 911 wheels have a Porsche hub, same as early 70-71 914's. For an early car, you just need the early plastic hub that has a metal horn cancel tab. You can use a later 72-76 plastic hub on this wheel to fit a 72-76 914. It will work but it's not optimal.

1970-1971 914's have a Porsche hub (flat front) that has a model number ending in "10"
1972-1976 914's have a VW hub (concave front and chamfer on the back of the hub) that has a model number ending in "11"

Got it, thanks for the information. I’m looking for a stock replacement wheel for my 1972.

Any wheel that part number ends in "11" will fit perfectly.

Marc,

I have a couple of stock 914 steering wheels.
Both are PN 914.347.804.11
Date codes are:
Left one....12/72
Right one...7/75
These are the standard stock "hard rubber/plastic" type.
You can as is or have them leather wrapped.
They are good driver condition and can be cleaned up and used or repainted.

I have more pictures....PM me if interested

Thanks
