I'm currently restoring a targa top. I am about to install the horizontal metal frames and rubbers that seal the top of the side windows.

When I removed the metal frames, there was some sort of sealer between the metal frame and the targa top. What is the recommended sealer to use?

It's butyl. 3M Weatherstrip adhesive is a close substitute.
