To remove the pull part on the headlight switch, after turning the coin shaped piece loose from the dash face, is there some sort of set screw to remove it?

No.

After unscrewing the knob, and the shaft retaining nut (shiny round thing with the notches), the switch should pull out from behind the dash. The wire harness may be stiff.

So at this point, I just need to unscrew it, it sounds like?
