914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Shipping a motor

I need to get a 3.0L six from Las Vegas to Eugene, OR (or Portland). Sender will crate or palletize it and deliver to a shipping terminal. No rush...just looking for the most affordable solution. Thanks for your thoughts..........

Shipper drops at a trucking depot, and you pick it up at the local depot.. there are many shipping companies..

Don't have it delivered point-to-point, that will run you a wheel, and a suspension.

Central Transport shipped my palletized engine.....costed $150 from CA to KY

do a search, but:

mine came from Michigan to Dallas for $400 on FedEx... they price matched a "no-name" shipping company with a much lower price...

I talked with a fellow about an engine earlier this year and he suggested Greyhound terminal to terminal. It was the cheapest way I found to get one shipped 700 miles or so.

greyhound for big stuff ...upto a point. not sure what weight limit is...

Posted by: goose2 Jul 24 2005, 06:15 PM

Yup, I'd always heard Greydog was the cheapest but I just checked with greyhound's online site...100lb. and $1000 max declared value.

From Greyhounds site.....
