Sold on Thursday for $70,000.
Good to hear. My "73 1.7 only has 48K miles on it. No brag, just fact.
Car looked ok, but nothing too special I thought.
Great color though.

its an ornament.
fantastic that it still exists.
but you can't drive it.
not unless you are into spending your money before the world ends.
i can think of bigger thrills for 70K than sitting on a chair staring at it.
but it deserves to be preserved onward having said that ----- sadly.
This is a great car, but it will probably never be a trip car or daily driver
We love our 73 1.7, body never touched with lots of usual rust, but full mechanical restoration. We drive it down 101 and 1 to SFO every couple of years. Best $12K (4k for car and 8k for mechanical restore) we have ever spent!

Isn't that Mecum car the one from e-bay via the "old lady"?
Yes, I believe it is the EBay car they had listed for $93k
