914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Oil Cooler Fan

idea.gif Was going through my stash of stuff and found this marine fan used to clear fumes under in engine compartment. The fan is rated at 400 CFM which is very powerful for the size.
The idea is install under stock oil cooler? It fits very nicely between fan shroud and oil filter.
What do you think??Attached Image

I would check the temp rating on the plastic for that fan. It may melt.

I expect the engine fan provides MUCH more cooling than this fan would produce.

Isn't it going to interfere with the engine mount bar?

I don't think a marine bilge blower is designed to be a continuous duty fan.

Does anyone know how much air the Type 4 fan moves. We need a CFM versus RPM curve.

If the bilge pump fan could be mounted and ducted to the oil cooler I wonder if the 400 CFM would significantly alter the airflow to the four cylinders. idea.gif

Had a similar idea. Concluded that pushing air in would be against the flow from the engine fan and wouldn't be beneficial for the cooler. Pulling air out would have a negative effect for the cylinders.
