914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Clutch shafts

Posted by: DLewis Oct 28 2021, 08:33 AM

I am rebuilding a pedal cluster for a member on the Pelican site with a 911.
He sent two clusters to make one and they had two different shafts.
They are the same overall length.
The one that is not straight on the end is from the 914.
I think the straight one is from a 911 but I don't know what year.
Also when you line up the holes where the roll pin goes they are offset slightly.

So my questions are:
Which one should I use
If I go with the 914 one will it work in a 911

Thanks, Dean

Shaft is dependent on 911 year model. 911 changed pedal assembly in 1974. Prior to that it used the same one as the 914.

I just did this on a 72 911 and it has the straight one with the bushing. I wonder if it is due to the 915 transmission

Yes you can use the 914 shaft in the 911 pedal set if the 911 is 1968-1973.
The 911's used either of the shafts you show. Not sure if the 911 shaft you show is the 74-76 shaft. You do have to use the spacer.

Thanks everyone.
His is a 72.
I am going to ask if he has a preference.
