914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 1.7 upgrade

What up grades can be done to a 1.7 engine to gain more performance short of swapping out with a 2.0? (Factory fuel injection)

Also, I can’t seem to find a “Topic Search” option to click on to find subjects I have questions about so I don’t have to post inquiries about subjects that have already been covered. Thanks

Less weight & high octane gasoline. I prefer nitromethane myself.

Swap heat exchangers out for headers. That's the biggest available performance increase without increasing displacement. But you lose heat, if that matters.

That, IMO, is the best way to search for content on this site.

This was a 1.7. It was first a 1911cc, which is just pistons and cylinders. Then by putting a 2.0 crank, rods and pistons, a little head work and it is a 2.0 . The heads were the biggest difference. But these 1.7 heads work fine with a little work.
