Anybody see a front strut insert like this before?
Shock was stuck in the down position and came out in pieces. The strut housing is black, so I think it’s a 911 3” boge strut

Hydropenumatic -spelling - early shock. Insert uses the strut body. Replace with a standard insert. Toss the guts.

Those were horrible. Went in 70 911E and a few others. Toss them, like Mark said.

Save the caps if your new ones don't have them...

Looks like stock Boge 911 struts.
They did not come with an insert the shock was assembled as part of the strut.
With all the guts out and new insert will go in.

The oil in them smells pretty bad.

Pretty sure they were part of a “Comfort Package”
for the 1970 E that also included the the 14” Fuchs wheels.
