914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rennshift with throttle control?

Posted by: BillJ Jan 14 2022, 02:32 PM

So i purchased the 914 Rubber manual throttle control for the 6 thinking it would be nice to warm up before a track session without minding it personally. However my car has the rennline shifter and therefore no provision for mounting it. Has anyone modded their redline shifter to keep the throttle lever?

I believe 914forme milled a slot in his for the throttle lever. It shouldn’t be hard to just duplicate the factory shifter.

Are talking about a RennShift Shifter ? Not sure what a redline shifter is.

If it's a RennShift unit then yeah I had one modified to fit a factory 914-6 throttle lever.

Is there an "easy" way to add a hand throttle to a 2.0 with twin Webers?

I had RennShift modify the base to fit my factory 6 throttle handle under their base.
Check the pics out. I would say see if they could do it for you.

My J West Rennshifter came with the hand throttle slot. And Bruce Stone sold me the hand throttle pieces.

Tangerine sells a hand throttle kit that isn't "correct" but does the job.

Looks like a fairly straightforward mod. Will call them monday! Thanks folks.

Just saw the tangerine kit. That may be the ticket for me as i dont care about correct really in this case....

I have an early rennshift and the hand throttle on the parts shelf. Good to know they can mill that slot, I might send mine back for the slot (or have a local, with better tools than me, make the slot)

Get the one from 914 Rubber, it looks like a good replica of the factory set up, which works go

Yeah i have it already but i also have the rennshift installed and the car shifts beautifully so i dont want to mess with that. Its not a must on the list for the February race in Savanah so probably back burner for now
