Refinishing Fuch Alloy Wheel Bolts

What should I be looking for? Clear Zinc Plating? Should the bolts be wire brushed or blasted prior to plating?

What company would you recommend for the plating?

Some of the bolts were chromed and some were clear zinc plated. I use a wire wheel and clean them up as much as possible. I use a flat file and fix any edges that need to be flattened. My chrome guy gets $5 a bolt.

I have always had them clear zinc plated. Wire wheel the threads to get them clean and smooth.

I used the Caswell process to blue chromate this lug bolt. I wire brushed them clean but you need to follow the Caswell process to remove the old plating before you can apply the new plating. I thought they came out great.
