914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Another classic eBay ad

But of course there's the famous "some rust in sheet metal" line. What are the odds that's all their is?

Also, no VIN and Green 2.0 - but photos of an orange 1.7?

Up here in the Northeast rust belt, I have never seen a deck lid rust away that much.

Reminds me of the days when 356s were going up in value and we'd see "barn find" rust piles for sale at silly prices.

"In" before the first "I have the VIN plates and the title" ads.

Doubtful of it being a 1974, more likely a 73, with a 1974 production date. Ergo the 1.7 tailbadge and the early steel wheels.

How about Mahle wheels, painted black going for $399 for one!

It does have "tits" on back, maybe it is an early production 74

Yea but it is Sig Orange!

The seller goes by the name Panhead..
I think that alone explains a lot..

They wouldn't have made a 473 car in 1974. They made 474 and 475 cars in 1974. More likely a typo that has propagated than a misread build date sticker.

I loved those days, this pic was taken in my yard in 2015. Look close, you can see a 914.
