914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rear trunk latch

My rear trunk latches and feels secure, but unlatches after a drive. I had this problem with a previous car and the solution was to change the pin. Is there a critical dimension on the pin I can file down? If the only solution is to get a new one, are the URO ones good? How do a tell if a used pin is good?

This is not my pin. Pulled it off the internet for communication purposes.

If your trunk is in the 'locked' position, does it also unlatch? If it's not the pin that comes down it could also be related to the locking mechanism as it has a pin that pushes the latch back to release the trunk.

agree.gif with Eric, I would look at the locking mechanism.

If it turns out to be the latch pin, then just weld it up to make it bigger and file it back down to the original size.
