Hello,
I am trying to repair a leak in the oil gallery under cylinders 3-4
As you can nearly see, the air deflection plate is up against the leaking clean out plug.
I would like to know from someone who has done this before, can I remove the rocker arms and pull the push rods and tubes as far as they will go, can I move the deflector enough to get access to the plug?
Thanks for your help.
Mike
You can pull the push rod tube out, you can’t get that piece of tin off without damage
So pull the engine?
I would pull it, mount on engine stand, flip it over and go from there.
You might need to pull the head and cylinders to get where you need to with the proper tools.
Don’t need to pull the engine, push rod tubes and push rods come out, plenty of room for an Allen key.
Pull the pushrod tubes halfway out, then swing the inboard end down and pull them that way. Some won't slide straight out due to the suspension console being in the way, but they can all slide partway out.
