My 914 that I purchased arrived yesterday and damn, what a sick car. Even better than I imagined, I got chills when I started poking around it. I purchased the car from a forum member, John and it was a pleasure working with him. Took it for a spin around the neighborhood and all I can say is I did not want to go home 
It tucks nicely into our old small garage! Oh, and I finally had to tell my wife that I bought a 914
Looking forward to becoming part of this community!

Congratulations. You are in rarified air getting to drive your 914 right away. A lot of us had to wait for that day. Have a lot of fun. I would still go over all the usual stuff to establish a maintenance baseline.

Nice car!! I also had a Chevy Luv 4x4 in mint condition with all the original stickers. Gutless on the street, but awesome off road.

The first one is easy to forgive. It gets harder when you tell your wife about the second one (and the parts car).

Congrats! I’m so glad you can drive and enjoy your 914 right out of the gate.
I bought my first 914 (basket case) exactly 4 years ago - an original paint ivory white 1.7 - much like your except mine has the early positive Porsche stripe, and it’s drivetrain was (and still largely is) in pieces- lol.
Besides purchasing a nice L80E whose cleaning was well documented here, joining 914World was easily your best move - these guys and gals are the best - and a true wellspring of knowledge and support.
Enjoy your journey . . .and yep, telling the wife about the 2nd 914 on the way is, well, an exponential “experience.”

LUV have been chopped up and swapped a lot, V8 conversion is a popular one. My truck is stock and will remain so, it is in really nice condition which is rare.
