When i recently had my truck windshield replaced, the supplier said they had one reasonably priced but wouldn’t install it. I’d love to find someone to do both.

Generally speaking I've had good luck calling an auto-glass installer like Safelite. They are who I'm planning to use when its time to get a windshield for the bus. Plus, if it breaks on install, they replace and try again.

Hey Rich ( @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=453 ),

Can you PM me, as well? Looking for a good quality replacement for this old, worn out, original windshield on my 74. Thanks.

Zach, I used one of those big companies for the 1st install 13 years ago. Unfortunately I had the exact opposite result. After that experience I learned to install them myself. I believe the east coast has a more experienced talent pool than we have. Lots of people here will tell you anything to get your $$$.

They're about $100 more than Rich. Thanks for the referral anyway. beerchug.gif

Windshields present a few things to consider.

Is OEM supplier important ? Some aftermarket windshields are too flat and some
may interfere with trim install.
Is method of install important ? original butyl or caulk gun ? original butyl is cleaner
and is less likely to interfere with trim install.
Is your trim reusable ?
Do you want tinted or clear ?
Ask before commiting to any part or installer.
I'm sure there are other things that can be a surprise.
Price may not be the biggest consideration.

the problem is the shipping, very expensive and hard to deliver in one piece that is why you are best to have your dealer order and go and pick up

That ^^^
I would like a rounded top one like the original. Not sure if the Dealer, SM, or Rufino can get this. confused24.gif

I bought a couple of Seikrut windshields from ProSource and they shipped them when Richard Tankel was still with them. Must have been $200 worth of plywood/lumber. That was 2 years ago so I'm hoping they're still available. I've installed a couple of Chinese windshields too and they fit fine albeit a small flat area. I picked up the Chinese ones at a warehouse in Riverside IIRC. I did pay ProSource for those also then picked them up the next day. beerchug.gif

Yes, talk to Rich. He was able to sell one to me to pick up at a local auto glass distributor warehouse.
