914World.com _ 914World Garage _ TINKERGINEERING 3D SCANNING my 914 at teh SEMA GARAGE
Posted by: TINKERGINEERING Jul 18 2022, 01:01 PM
The 914 Adventure continues! Thanks for tuning in 914WORLD-ERS I HAVE A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! I am at the SEMA GARAGE learning how to 3D Scan my 914 for accurate measurements. Plus I couldn't resist getting Scanned myself. I hope to continue to motivate kids (big and little:) to get out there and tackle their own dreams! Frances Oh, Dad is telling me to say Hi for him again!
Does the 3-D scan allow third parties to prototype parts for the 914? (i.e. does it go into a database for CAD designers?)

Thanks for watching! SEMA has a database they manage for member companies I believe that's how it works. Maybe we can do a heist episode and drop in through the AC vents and recover a thumb drive or something

Frances - You need to pick up a 911 project. I’m not saying they are better than 914’s (the 914 and it’s owners are way more fun). But the 911 crowd is huge and a presenter that’s someone other than a middle aged man would be refreshing. You would kill it.

They can do 19' x 4' x 8’ now, I don't want to know the cost.

Andy,
Speaking of that. With the advent of more and more economical AM equipment, would it be possible to start a repository here on world for parts? I've got a few STLs and DXFs that could be of value to coffee drinkers, for keychains, or for subie converters.
