which way does the heater cable grommet go? Pointy things toward cabin or toward front truck?

Based on the diagram, It indicates that the "Pointy things"face the front trunk

My memory is fuzzy but I believe you install the heat/vent controls with the bowden cables attached and then feed them through the grommet to the frunk. That would also be a vote for pointing toward the frunk.
