I looking to hire a trusted fabricator to weld in a replacement front trunk (air conditioning hole) and a new battery tray. I'm in Chicago but I will travel to NW Indiana or the SW Michigan area.
Happy to learn if someone is willing to teach me.

Get ahold of Brad I think he can help you or direct you. There is a right way and lots of wrong ways of doing this.
These cars are bringing strong money if done right so best to do it right so the next owner or potential owner will not turn it down because of the repair work.

Do you have the floor to weld in?
Is it just the battery tray or is it deeper problem?
Are you in Chicago or suburbs?
Thank you! I will reach out to Brad.
I have not ordered the floor pan yet. There are two sizes available one is partial, and the other is the whole floor. Auto Atlanta has the parts listed.
As for the battery tray, I believe that is all that is at risk. There might be one more small patch just below the tray. There is a hole in the center of the tray. Below that hole is metal, but it feels soft.
The car is in Mount Prospect, IL.
This is what you need for up front or see if one of the guys has one.

I have used RD for several projects, their products rock
Keep us posted with your progress and great looking ride BTW
I'd bet the Stoddard piece comes from Restoration Design. Just buy direct from the source. Excellent products.
