Good morning everyone. I am trying to gauge interest in GT lines. I had 2 previous runs made and now looking at a 3rd run. Likely would do these in mild steel and yellow zinc plate them this go around as Stainless was over kill and 25% more than last time with no benefit really as the ends were steel anyway.
Thoughts?
I'm in; been hounding you for the past year for a set; hopefully more will chime in so I can actually get a set for my factory 6. Thank you again for doing these!
Todd
I have a set of GT hard lines in my car and love them. If you are doing or planning on doing a 6 conversion, this is the way to go IMHO. Of course, Ben's stuff is top drawer.
I’m in for a set. Thanks
For reference here is what they looked like last time. As I said they were stainless but this go around mild steel. Even thinking of using a 26mm fitting instead of a 30. The 30mm hose doesn’t go into the front trunk easily.
Beautiful
These give additional cooling over rubber lines correct? Any idea how much they help?
I am almost too afraid to ask, but have you priced brass like the originals? Or is it a matter of sourcing the correct size tubing? I will be needing a set for my car to go with PMB’s new oil cooler replica.
Add me. I’m in!
Charlie
Interested..
I'm interested!
Ben. Can never say no to your work. Timing?
Hello Ben,
Interested as this will likely be my plan B.
Thanks,
Ken
interested as well.
john
I'd be interested too.
So 11 interested plus 2 others outside of the forum?
Looks like it, that’s a decent amount of takers
If you figure out a price point and would like a deposit please let us know.
Thanks again for making another round of hard lines, not to sound snobby but I really really didn’t want to use rubber lines on my 6.
Todd
Im in
Ben count me in for a set.
Thanks Todd
Sounds great. I am on short getaway with my wife early next week. Final decision will be late next week and then I will request a $100 deposit for all interested parties and of course final pricing. I don’t have a way to quote zinc plating without a finished part in hand so will just do final price without plating and then deal with plating for those interested once I have them in hand.
Any thoughts on 30, 26mm or AN fittings on these? Last time was 30 and that has its own issues as previously mentioned even though that is what the factory GT lines had.
Add me in for a set of lines. I like the idea of keeping the original 30mm fittings.
I'm interested as well....
Ok looks like we are getting to the magic number.
Ben,
Please put me down for a set too, and let me know when to send the deposit.
I guess I would vote for the 26mm or whatever will make this easier to run. I needed to bite the bullet and reroute my oil lines anyway…
Thanks!
Danny
I'm in for a set, maybe 2 depending on price point.
I can't see the 26mm return line being an issue, basically it's a 1" or AN-16 size equivalent.
To be clear the 26mm fitting option would be the same size as the engine case fitting on a stock -6. The issue is I need to see if there are adapters out there like there are for the 30mm fittings.
Please put me in for one.
Matt
I think I would like a set as well.
Pete
Are these happening?
Thanks a bunch. I am hoping to get them in time to install ahead of engine getting done by end of February (fingers crossed). Will need to know end fittings you landed on so i can source the right fittings.foe.the soft lines.
Ok we have semi finalized costs and pricing on this run will be $695. I will be pm’ing those that showed interest and how to put deposits down etc.

@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=25541 HB- great call. You will love the GT lines on your car.
Well to say that deposit system went seamless couldn't be further from the truth. Some people sent money with no information. Then some sent PM's that I can't tie to the payments.
I sent everyone my email address could you please send me an email with your information so I can tie it to the payments.
PS we are only talking about half to people that were interested came forward with a deposit. Please email me with your intent so I can have the proper amount of parts machined and bent.

my preference 914-6 GT hardlines, 26mm fittings, Bare...
Deposit and information sent via PayPal. Thanks Ben!
Just an update. I have 14 sets with deposits we are at the point of no return if you will. Still have to finalize fittings as they priced out way more than we anticipated but working through that now
Sent my deposit by PP, just put my name and what it's for in the notes.
Let me know if you need my shipping info at this time.
Ok update. Oil lines are bent. They now need to ship to me for final fitting welding, testing, and plating for those wanting them. I will be looking for the balance to be paid very shortly.
That's going to be a whole lot of happy owners once the GT hard lines and oil coolers are installed.
These are beautiful work, Ben. As always. Also love the thinking around 26mm vs 30mm.
Seeing the sets stacked up has me thinking about "completing the loop" to create a 911-style loop cooler for those of us with smaller sixes running within reasonable temps (180-210 F) and little interest in losing front trunk utility, lay-down spare, etc. Those loop coolers added significant oil capacity/heat sink, kept the trunk entirely intact, and worked well on a lot of 911s. I recall Bruce Anderson actually preferred loop coolers for many US use cases where you weren't running big speeds for cooling air as in Germany. Back roads, sitting in traffic, autocross, etc.
How hard would it be? And can you imagine a loop (or two?) that makes sense whether in the wheel well(s) or under the front trunk, behind the spoiler? I am running an LE spoiler, and it seems like there's space behind it.
Terrible idea? Of course, it would come down to whether there others who might be interested in something like this?
PMB now offers a GT replica oil cooler..

Your balance is now due. I will be welding fittings on starting next week. Please confirm fitting size. If you want plating that is extra and I don’t know how much that is yet but the balance is still due and we will figure out plating after the fact.

Balance sent via PayPal. Thanks Ben!
balance sent via Paypal. I would like the 26mm fittings and the plating (for extra cost).
Thanks!
Danny
Balance sent via Paypal. I want the 30mm fittings and will pay extra for the plating. Would like yellow zinc if possible.
Money sent. 30mm. Zinc plating
Balance sent via P/P, 26mm plated please
Todd
Balance sent. Will want anodized option and most likely 26mm fittings. I assume hoses for 26mm fittings are not a problem to find but need to look into it. Info on where to source is appreciated.
Update just picked up 300 fittings today. Now it will happen much faster
Matt
Looking good! If I had any use for an oil cooler I'd be in line, as it sits I can get enough heat in the oil with just the case-mounted cooler.
1st set of lines are going to the plater tomorrow. I hope they will be done in a week
Just dropped off for plating. Cost is $100 per set. The first run will be done this week.
Awesome! When can we get them?
These all have shipped now. Thanks again
Will share some install pics!!
Mine are in! Funny enough cut off the 30mm to.add AN 12. Of course...
