What are the group's sentiments/experiences with a DIY overhaul of the brake pressure regulator? Can't find any shop manual references, which is usually ominous!

I purchased the rebuild kit from PMB Performance and did not touch the adjustment screw.

PMB has a kit and an option for full service. I imagine there are directions in the kit. I just went for the full service option. Came back like new.

The factory manual does discuss trouble shooting and remedies, but not what you were looking for.



They do have a cross sectional view and instructions on how to adjust it. It looks pretty simple.
Even so, I sent mine to PMB.

Had mine restored by PMB it was well worth the money it cost, don’t fall into the trap of doing everything yourself, it’s ok to farm out certain jobs.

Are you sure that it needs overhaul? I have been wondering myself if it a was prudent to rebuild it, even if it looks good and tests good. My understanding is worst case, the front to rear brake bias would be sub-optimal. Not that brakes wouldn't work. I may be wrong about that though.

The PMB kit is an easy install. The work is in cleaning and refurbishing all the parts to make it all like new again.
