As our teeners age, along with the absence of paint or sealant from the factory in the inner lower door area, it seems like "rust free" doors are getting harder to find and repairing what you have possibly becoming the norm.
I currently have 3 pairs of doors between my 2.0 resto project, a donor car and a spare pair I received with the project. Between the 3 sets, I still may not have enough clean metal on the bottom edge inside and outside to make 1 full pair and will be patching like crazy to piece a pair together.
Forgive me if I missed it, but I did a quick search as far back as 2014 and didn't see a thread / threads that addresses full or lower steel door skin replacement, current vendor sources, best practices, tips, tricks, etc. Any assistance would be appreciated.
There are no aftermarket sources. Most people just make patch panels and weld up as needed.
If you look up my restoration thread you will see the skins I made and did.
