Quick update!
This transaxels has actually been a lot of fun! Removing the speedo bushing was the most frustrating but it came out. New gaskets and bushings are in and fresh synchros too! Okay huge thanks so far to Dr Evil who has given me the confidence to tear into this thing! Putting the case back together and refilling with gear oil is all that's left! the plan is still to mate the 901 to a Hyper 9 175V which has similar RPM to the 2.0 that was in there originally. After paint then fishing the resto and install the EV bits under the guidance of Mark @914electric. More updates. 1 year to go till Drivers Permit!
Awesome!
Nothing like the smell of transmission oil in the morning ...
Nice job Frances, dad has to be pretty proud. Just great. Best, Mark
Some puzzle you got there…
Your mexican fan…
Thanks for the update. We are all looking forward to seeing you behind the wheel driving that baby.
UPDATE: screwed back together and filled with gear oil!
Off to paint next!
Thanks 914World and Mr Dr Evil
Nice to see the progress. The next year will fly by. You are going to have to turn the wick up if you want to take your driver's test in it.
Great job!
My wife and I attended a Dr. Evil rebuild clinic and both transmissions continue to work flawlessly… but can still smell the brake cleaner
Let’s us know how it works…
You're going to cause problems (or solutions) for her future boyfriends!
Having a girlfriend who is more mechanically inclined than them might be a ego killing thing.
Right up to the point she saves their butts out in the hinterlands with some duct tape and a paperclip...
Way cool to be doing this type of stuff with your daughter.
My hat's off for you sir!
If someone’s ego can’t handle it, they aren’t the right person to be with.
A WHOLE lot braver than me, for sure! Thanks for the update.
