Got a customer that has my plaid seats and wants a set of door panels, as well as dash face material and material to cover tge door pockets.
I'm not applying the door pocket material as it would drive me crazy if the stripes didn't line up. But it will be nice to see it once it's done.
May look pretty cool on the pockets. Kind of like those pictures where something is hidden, camouflaged by being painted the same.

Yes. Too much can just be too much. The Porsche O-Part interiors come to mind.
It's personal taste and I do like plaid, but that'd be a bit much for me.
Seats can look cool. Anything beyond that looks tacky, imho.
I think the original plaid 911 Porsche is in the museum in HQ
It was front seats and door panels.
Can’t recall if the dash wash changed also.
Then the 928 arrived….things went from there
Plaid overdose is a real thing….
I chose this look
Tweed seat inserts
The rest is leather
I waffle on the dash face, but new dash top is stock black
I love the tweed inserts. Prior to that I would always have to sit on a very hot seat after parking for a bit.
I never put the top up.

That looks perfect to me.
The silver 914-8 has tweed inserts. Apparently favored by Ferry Porsche.
I once knew a Scotsman named Brad.
He did a paint job that was terribly bad.
He said, "I confess, this terrible mess,
Was an attempt at Metal Flake Plaid".
I read this ditty as a kid back in the late '60s in a 'Hot Rod' magazine.
Funny how some things stick with you forever.
Factory Overdose on a 916
The Bill Blass edition, the Calvin Klein edition, the Eddie Bauer edition. Did the 914 miss out on these designer cars?
Glad to be plaid?
If it were my car, I would add a band of black vinyl along the bottoms of the door panels about 4” wide to tone down the plaid and mimic the mix of vinyl and plaid on the seats .
this might just qualify as overkill- just seen in instagram

No is the answer to your silly question
