914World.com _ 914World Garage _ WCR - Hotel charges

Posted by: Mikey914 Jun 5 2023, 09:03 AM

Hey guys, got charged the "Resort fee" for staying, but parking was not specifically listed. When we stayed last I don;t think there was a fee, but I may be wrong.

I would suggest if you stayed at the hotel and booked through the link you all go back to Priceline as parking was not listed as a fee.

I paid extra for parking, it wasn't listed during booking (and i did pay the resort fee) but they told me there was a separate parking fee at check-in.

At least i got to sneak the wife's Mini in the parking garage without paying for an extra car, so it's not all bad.

I would suggest we all leave reviews noting this extra charge. If you look at the listing is specifically says all fees may not be included, but this is a little slimy considering that we paid a resort for of $28.50, and it usually included parking.

If we all post the truth, perhaps the situation may be corrected.

Just squeezing every penny they can out of guest’s pocket. But paying a fee to park is absurd. A one time thing or per night?

These days it’s usually per night

The way it is listed, per your screen grab, it says self-parking is part of the resort fee so there should not be a charge for parking.

I didn't stay there but left them a nice Casino donation.

Overall, all was good. Wife and I are still smiling. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

New faces and cars are always a bonus.

The way I look at it is, They assumed the liability of keeping my car safe during my stay for a fee. Kinda sucked that they hid it though. What am I saying, that garage was open to the public 24/7. Anyone could have access with the push of a button. Literally.

Edit: I just looked on my itemized invoice and no specific "Parking Fee" was listed.

Mark I was charged $85.50 resort fee and $15.00 per night parking fee. If I was home in Vegas they would have charged some sort of made up BS fee on top of all that. Still good times though.

Even Disneyland doesn't tell you that valet parking is $65 per night vs. $35 if you self park when you arrive. Go figure.

My wife mentioned this billing matter to some friends. Apparently it’s the new normal. Everything is additional $. That you may not know about until check out. I obviously don’t get out much. I prefer the old normal in most cases.

Make sure you fill out a google review, and a review with priceline.

I think a parking fee is just to park. I doubt they assume any liability. If the fee wasn’t disclosed until checkout, just dispute to your credit card company. They will take care of it for you.

@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=3348 - Mark- This was not your fault or problem. I get that hotels are still trying to recover from COVID. You did a great job. beerchug.gif

Mark and Rob did a great job. The hotel was nice, the dinner was nice, the runs were fun, especially the Virginia City Run.
To me, $15.00 parking is around the same cost as lunch at McDonald's and yes places like Disneyland and Universal studios is beyond ridiculous.
I was surprised at the goofy additional hotel costs, but no big deal.
Upsell? $20.00
Hotel Tax $2.80
Resort Fee $$25.00
Resort Fee Tax $3.50
Parking $15.00
Douglas County Surcharge $5.00
I goofed up on my reservations, so I had one for Thursday night and another for Friday and Saturday. They didn't charge me the Douglas County Surcharge on the first night. The other costs didn't make sense between the two reservations, but it created other issues. I had to reactivate my hotel key the next day for the second reservation and the key never worked right in the parking garage. Kept saying card not found.

To me no big deal. I have better things to do than fight over goofy charges.

Thanks guys, if just rubs me the wrong way.

Not the way I do business, and in my opinion a bs thing to do.
If you need the revenue just ask a fair price.
Nice to see a breakdown, but it's becoming more like Airlines dry.gif
