914World.com _ 914World Garage _ OT: Bus ramp truck

Posted by: r_towle Jul 27 2023, 07:35 PM

I have seen many VW bus single cab ramp trucks over the years.

I’m am seeking any leads to buy one.
I would rather restore versus build one.
I would love to buy one that works…..but whatever.
Global is fine, though US would be easier.

Seeking one that was built to carry a car.

@“ric birks” I doubt he’d sell that bad boy, but you never know. If this doesn’t work, you can always pm him. Sorry, apparently I don’t know how to summon someone with a space in his/her name.

Rick may not want to sell today, that is ok.

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has spotted one tucked away behind some shop in SoCal….
There were at least ten of them I have seen in pictures.
Hoping to find one that is no longer being used, yet still has life left in it.

I just looked at the website The Samba.com; at least two are available, one has a 356 on the back, quite a few others that can be stretched if you wanted to go that route.

I’ve been looking. Ramp versions appear to be as rare as rocking horse dung. I’ll keep an eye out. Saw some single cab trucks, a few in the condition that almost begs to be a ramp truck.
