Hello
In Europe, the 914-4 was sold at Volkswagen dealers.
What was the model name for the car? I doubt they called it the Volkswagen 914. Or did they? Was it a word, or number, or what ?
Thanks.

It's a bit complicated.
The short version, Porsche and VW actually founded a new company called the "VW-Porsche-Vertriebsgesellschaft" which was supposed to market the 914 separately.
In RoW (Rest of World), the 914 was sold as the "VW-Porsche 914", including the 914-6 which was badged as "914-6-VW-Porsche"
The VW was only dropped for the US market.

I have heard the " P O R S C H E " letters on the engine grill only existed in USA, and that everywhere else the engine grill was blank.
Is this true ?
