All Motors are Test Run at our facility before going out the door. With a complete, its the best way to go because we do all the initial work and all you have to do is the install. We run the motor for one to two hours and check anything and everything possible. We check the valves 2-3 times, we set the timing, adjust and sync the carbs, check the compression, check the oil pressure, and the initial break-in on the cam is done.

Yes, I am not an expert, but familiar. Pretty much VW guys. They do know their stuff, been around a long time.. But, with that being said, I have heard mixed reviews. Good and bad.

It appears they are mostly a VW engine builder so I would assume its a Type 3 but not sure from the ad.

I’m pretty sure its going to be a Type 3 but still a fair price if one was in the market for a Type 3 build. Thanks for the comments…….

Check the BBB on them. They used to be not recommended.
Not so on magnesium cases. SOME Euro cases stamped "VO" were made of magnesium

Magnesium case, not for me.
From what I know mag cases are inferior to aluminum. Ask an owner of a 7R case from the early 1970's 911. The main bearing bores oval over time much more than comparable aluminum cases.

Back in the day they were cheap and i steered clear of any mofoco heads. They always seemed to have issues, but that was type 1 heads and 20 years ago so....do research of recent quality

1968 411 only.
unlikely any of those cases ever got to the USA.
411s didn't get stateside until about 71 or something.
they stopped making them mag for a sound reason i imagine.

We ran a 1966 2.0/6 aluminum motor
Switched to a 73.5 mag 7R race 2.0/6
Loss about 20lbs

Bit of a hijack but whatever happened with Original Customs? I know it was a little while ago but from what I recall his $5k engine was a pretty good deal.
