Installing my engine/trans after adding my new FI bits and other misc to do in the engine bay.
I cannot seem to get the trans to sit better on the mounts. Check out the pictures and let me know if I need to crawl back under and try do a better job. I did snug down the outer engine mounts first and proceeded to work on the trans mount.
I cannot seem to get a good fit. Was that like that before I don't remember.
Should I elongate the 2 holes for the trans mount or should I loosen ALL the mounts and see if that might get a better fit.
Let me know if you have some observations, tips and recommendations.
Thanks a bunch !
Ted
That does not look right ...
What does the front of the engine look like?
Is the engine tin a tight fit with the seal(s) all around?
Did you have the engine and trans separated?
Is your engine mount bar bent?
Loosen the outer engine mount bolts and push the bar forward. Then adjust the rear mounts. The trans mounts are safe as is, and should be fine with just a little more engagement on the passenger side.
Check to see if motor bar bolts are bent and or the steel mount is tweeked.
The engine was not separated from the trans.
The engine bar is not tweeked looking at all.
The long bolts that go through the engine bar, went in easily, so it not bent either.
The steel cross bar (3-4 inch) is not obvious looking bent.
The front engine tin to rubber seal gap is bit wide, but note I did replace that seal while I had the engine out.
I agree that may indicate that my engine is not far forward enough.
I will try what Chris Foley suggested.
Thanks all,
Are the sport mounts slotted? They dont align perfectly
