Are you concerned of the calibration?

The diagrams all say 200c or 120c or 150c. Maybe I am misunderstanding the diagram.

Based on date code 6 72 and made in Germany stamp I would speculate that it’s original to car and a 200C sensor.
Yes - sensor affects gauge calibration
You can probably loosen it 1/2 turn and get info from the other side to be 100% sure and only get minor dripping.

I figured it was a 200, I will give it a spin on my next oil change.

if you weren't already aware you are missing the cover, so you may be seeing cooler temps at the gauge than actual.

Anybody know what date ranges correspond to which senders?
