I have been watching older tv shows lately. Finished Adam 12 and Dragnet. Watching Barnaby Jones and The Six Million Dollar Man now. Lot's of shots of great vintage cars in all of them.

You guys are all wet.....Hawaii 5-0 is the best and they show five episodes in a row on Fridays here in LA....the skirts are so high it makes me crazy...plus the cars in the background...same with Adam 12 but Hawaii five 0 has all the leg a guy can handle....
All the best,

Y'all need to get a digital OTA antenna. I get some 75 channles here in central CT and the vast majority of these shows is broadcast OTA for free.
And then build a Plex server to record them. In my basement I have all the episodes recorded for:
CHiPS
Magnum, P.I.
The Love Boat
Gilligan's Island
Green Acres
The Rockford Files
Nature
Emergency!
Seinfeld
STTNG
The SixMillion Dollar Man
Wild Wild West (still catching up)
Welcome Back Kotter
Night Court
Battlestar Galactica
The American Experience
NOVA
WKRP in Cincinnatti
...and much more.
What am I going to do with these? No clue; there's no way that I have priority to watch all these again. But it's fun to grab a beer on occasion and just toss on a Wings or Magnum or Emergency and watch an episode and believe that I could live in someone's Hawai'i beach mansion for free https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a15142347/ferrari-reinvents-manifest-destiny-pj-orourke-and-a-ferrari-308gts-archived-feature/ (don't think I could rock the shorts though...) - GA

The ‘Love Boat’? A lot of careers crashed and burned in the 70s early 80s.

I watched the original Magnum PI when it was on Prime. Great cars and scenery. I was surprised at how serious a few of the episodes got related to Vietnam, PTSD, etc.

The parts I like about these old campy series are the cars plus the pre-career cameos. Many times I'm like, "hey, isn't that a young X...?" and check IMDB and yup, that's who it was.
I forgot Black Sheep Squadron (nee "Baa Baa Black Sheep"). I actually really like that one for the flying scenes. I had a buddy whose dad owned one of those Corsairs that flew in the series...loved that airplane (did you know that the real Greg Boyington had a cameo appearances in two eposidoes as a hard-nosed general...? Some of the s**t that gets stuck in my brain...) - GA

Watched “Combat” with Vic Morrow as a child, “Maverick” later one, and “The Wild Wild West” with Robert Conrad at our frat house in college (no TVs in the dorms or apartments). No cars or short skirts, though.
Once we finish Hotel Portofino series, will check out Rockford Files. Wonder if Maverick is still available to view.

You'd be AMAZED at how many of these old TV shows are being broadcast daily on Over The Air (OTA) digital TV.
Maverick is broadcast on "Heroes & Icons" channel
The Wild, Wild West is on MeTV
The Rockford Files is on getTV
Emergency! is on COZI TV
CHiPs was on, I think, MeTV. Don't see it available right now
The Love Boat is on Catchy Comedy
...and much, much more. All available free with an antenna (and recordable via a Plex server and/or HDHomeRun.)
If if you're not really into that stuff...there's always Captain Jack Sparrow's favorite source for TV shows. They have it all, ready to binge.... - GA

I always thought Baa Baa Black Sheep was the most ridiculous WWII show ever made. All the girls looked like Farah Fawcett (nothing wrong with that of course, but hardly period accurate), and in all the combat scenes supposedly taking place in the Pacific Theater, the planes are obviously flying over the deserts of southern California. Just made it all unwatchable. Actually, I'm surprised the producers didn't try to jam in some "1943" model year 914s.

Been watching The Rockford Files while recuperating. Spotted not one, but TWO 914s in the opening sequence of the Aura Lee, Farewell episode (season 1, episode 15) at the 3:12 mark. Just a flash.

Nice find. I had a Sunflower Yellow in '73 like the one pictured. I later had a '73 boat-tail Riviera like the one next to it (not proud of that one).

It’s not a clam shell Rivie but I thought they were kind of cool. Especially if they sit right. Be proud.

Vic Morrow ('Combat actor Sgt. Saunders) connection to 914s; in 1982, his estate wound up selling his 1975 Palma Green metallic to Jack's Wholesale Div. auto sales; which was the Lot located in front of my shop at 9063 W. Washington Bl. Culver City, CA. They offered it to me for $5,500 and stated it had Celebrity status>> too much for it.
Though I did sort some problems out on the car for them !
I already had been driving my 1974, that I purchased 8 years prior from Downtown L.A. P+A. The salesman Heinz Brinkmann told me that he was a TV actor on the TV show 'Combat. He says that he was cast as a German soldier , and said depending on the episode...he appeared every 2nd or 4th week so none of the viewers would notice that he was eliminated in previous episodes
He also owned a very tasty German deli/ bakery on the Redondo Beach pier back then. I'm sure that Vic got a great Deal from Heinz on his '75

Been watching first seasons of Rockford Files and Maverick on DVDs. Uninterrupted, free from library system.
Tried watching a Rockford Files episode on GET TV last night. Unbearable; chopped out key segments to allow more, longer commercials. Never quite sure what was going on. Unwatchable.
Back to the DVDs!
