914World.com _ 914World Garage _ OT: Daylight savings time

Posted by: fixer34 Nov 5 2023, 08:40 AM

Six around the house
three on kitchen appliances
two in cars (my -6 doesn't have a clock-914 content??)
zero watches-I don't wear one, wife has iWatch

Guess I never really never thought about it, but is the US the only one that does this??

Please, no commentary on WHY it is done...

Nope. Most European construes do as well, but not always on the same day. BTW, Not every US State does!

Not sure about other parts of the world

Does anyone really know what time it is?

Does anybody really care. Chicago

Hawaii doesn't do DST. The only change is that now the West Cost is 2 hours ahead of us instead of 3 hours. Makes calling the mainland a little easier...

Just a few that have to be changed manually. My wife said she'd take care of them. I've been up since 4:30. She didn't do the bedroom clock. To be fair she has a bad cold. She'll claim I would have been up anyway. She's right, but still......

I probably have close to 20 with timers and vehicles, not including watches. Why does every kitchen appliance have a clock in it. I have 4 in a 5 foot row just near the oven.

Does anyone really care? (Well done! biggrin.gif )

Total of five for me. One in the garage and four in the house. I didn't count the 914 because I disconnect the battery when it is parked so I have to set the clock each time I drive.

Waking up at 4 was bad enough. Waking at 3 REALLY sucks.

Neither does Arizona. They stay on standard time year around.

This is not as good as it seems. I have to adjust for the differences in time zones twice a year and I have clients all over the world. REALLY confusing.

If the whole world gave up on this insanity, I would be much happier.

I have so far counted 16, have weather stations in several parts of the house that run up the numbers. The only place I don't face a clock is in my 914! smilie_pokal.gif
