Been playing around with a new product line / lines. Not yet ready for the masses. Still have some decisions to make, but if this performs as we hope, it will be a lot of fun!!!

What am I looking at? Long stroke crank with non-stroker pistons? Those are the biggest cylinder spacers I've ever seen. Is the tin going to fit?

OK, I'll take a guess.

It's a stroked 914 motor with a displacement of 2.4 to 2.5 liters. It has bigger through bolts, and a cast iron oil pump. Say 96mm bore and a stroke of 84 or 86mm.

Nice! My 2375 has a 82mm stroke on a 96mm bore and my cylinder spacers are tiny compared to that. Damn! blink.gif

The lower section of the spigots on your case look very thin.

Presume you're looking at bigger body case bolts.
The OEM bolts are designed for stretch to allow differential thermal expansion between cases and bolts. Thermal expansion coefficient for aluminum is 13.2 and 8.3 for steel.
This is micro inches per inch per degree F. so the case will grow a lot more that the bolts when up to operating temperature. Not sure how close to yield strength the case bolts are when torqued, but the additional stretch from thermal expansion adds considerable force to those bolts.
Note how big radii are incorporated into the enlarged ends.

You need to watch the engineering as those big bolts will stretch less & force expansion loads into the root of these threads which are already a fatigue sensitive machine.
