Like a virgin in white , waiting for your gentle touch. |
Did you even sleep last night?
That is some nice welding, congrats on the car!
OH MY GOD HAS PAUL SEEN THIS!?
Get some clothes on it, before it catches a flu.

Sweet
'bout time you welded that engine mount on! Its been a year since I drug it over the pond to you!

I hope you didn't get the engine mount in too high.
When I installed one the bottom was right down on the flange where the floorpan meets the firewall. It looks like yours is at least 1/2" up.

yep... it is 1/2 an inch up
Brad advised me to mount it 1/2" up if I was going to run headers on a low car to make sure I got enough ground clearance...
Oh man Jeroen, when I saw that post about it being too high my stomach flipflopped. I had visions of trying to grind those welds.
Now, that looks Mavvvelous.
Dave
I figured, worse case scenario, I could put a 1/2" washer under the mounts and use longer bolts to lower it back
I did forget one thing though... I should have grinded a vent hole at the bottom center of the welded piece
I fear it's going to be a water trap (I'm not using any engine tin, so there's quite an exposed scoop )
well, instead of just sittin' here glaring at my monitor, I got off my ass and put the (old) engine in the car for mock up
went in smooth and fits like a glove
just took me 20min (no help) so that explains the smug grin
Looks awesome! Keep the pics coming...great job!
Makes me want to start a 6 project next.......
but the 'BIG TIV' is first in line!..
