'bout time you welded that engine mount on! Its been a year since I drug it over the pond to you!

Looks great in white but where are the fender, dude?? sad.gif

May be a bit hard to see, but if you look in the first pic, theres a big ass box on next to the car (driversside)
The new "plastic" fenders are in there laugh.gif

And the front stock steelies are in the 8th pic
Still in factory primer

I hope you didn't get the engine mount in too high.
When I installed one the bottom was right down on the flange where the floorpan meets the firewall. It looks like yours is at least 1/2" up.

Ouch! ohmy.gif

Posted by: Jeroen Aug 25 2005, 07:16 AM

yep... it is 1/2 an inch up
Brad advised me to mount it 1/2" up if I was going to run headers on a low car to make sure I got enough ground clearance...

Posted by: DNHunt Aug 25 2005, 07:23 AM

Oh man Jeroen, when I saw that post about it being too high my stomach flipflopped. I had visions of trying to grind those welds.

Now, that looks Mavvvelous.

Dave

I figured, worse case scenario, I could put a 1/2" washer under the mounts and use longer bolts to lower it back

I did forget one thing though... I should have grinded a vent hole at the bottom center of the welded piece
I fear it's going to be a water trap (I'm not using any engine tin, so there's quite an exposed scoop sad.gif )

Posted by: Jeroen Aug 25 2005, 05:32 PM

well, instead of just sittin' here glaring at my monitor, I got off my ass and put the (old) engine in the car for mock up
went in smooth and fits like a glove
just took me 20min (no help) so that explains the smug grin laugh.gif
