Planning to renew the fuel system in winter, just cruising this spring/summer in my resent buy I thought.
Heavy smell of fuel in engine-bay, located fuel in contactpoint on injectors where the wiring is put, the two rear injectors on each side most disturbing.
Car runs very good, spark plugs fine no fire yet.....
Any hot tip? Fuel-line fittings looks and feels OK, will take out injectors and inspect inner and outer rubber bushings, but can’t figure out how the fuel take that route....
Cracked/porose injector plastic.
Dangerous!
Verify by completely drying harness recess in the body and merely turning FP on.
Get wet again?
I'd replace ALL of the injectors.
Nissan had a HUGE class action in the early 90s regarding this type of leakage.
I'd done 9 complete injector replacements on customer cars by that point.
Nissan REPAID all of my customers for my work AND replaced what I installed with brand new stuff.
One of the most enjoyable things I've done as a shop owner were those phone calls.
"You want your money back?"
"If you don't have a copy of the receipt, I do..."
They didn't even have to own the car anymore!
Got almost 10K back to the customers in total.
Thank you for info and your experience. Get’em out and decide on which type to invest in....
I've only seen that on early Nissan VG30s.
The elbows are far more likely to leak. Make sure you're not seeing leakage from the rubber parts.
But, if you diagnose leakage through the plastic I wouldn't trust any of them...
The fj67s are what you want. Cheap. Work well. But make sure it isn't the elbow first.
Noted.
Had a look at these ones from Injector rehab when I planned for winter fix, maybe they need to come in the garage sooner...
I am not sure I like the look but that has got to be far better for the seals. The current design is less than optimal with the elbows and hold downs.
Well, the original design has been doing it’s work for a long time I suppose, maybe just renew it close to original standard with fj67, though I can see benefits.
(BTW, Changed injectors and fuel rails this winter on a T3 Wasserboxer Bus, preventive, Gowesty style, a more handy design, lots of space back there offcourse).
On an other tread now in april an other liebhaber has done the swap, reffering to it when I find out how to...
Take the old ones out tomorrow and then decide!
I like that injector setup. But how are they getting the EV14s to seal in the stock manifold? Is it the same size seal?

I just put in a new set of EV1-type connectors in my Microsquirt build, wish I'd seen these before...

Getting wiser evert minute, putting new rubbers on and check for leaks and wet contactpoints after a guick startup.
They all look the same, though I can see some minor differences, the one with the green tip is the one with fuel in the el. contactpoint.
You have 3 different (style/age?) injectors in that...
Someone used worm clamps on the hoses (which look like crap anyways).
That alone would "deadline" those for me.
I'd hunt some of the FJ67s down OR maybe change up to the new style EV14s.
If the EV14s will work with the ECU I'd make sure to get same flow rate as the originals.
Every time I've installed EV14s I've ALSO installed an aftermarket digital FI ecu.
The EV14s I use have always been 700-1000cc units and REQUIRE adjustable pulse times that you can adjust with a laptop.
But, if the impedance and flow rate is the same they should work fine with old technology.
4 injector FJ67’s from RockAuto on it’s way, arriving Monday!
Sticking to the original outfit, hope that will do it.
Thanks all for comments and advice!0

New FJ67 injectors fitted, side entrance for the electric connectors, woorking fine now after 60 miles driving, the old one in the middle of pic.
