Took the car out for a spin to check my newly rebuilt calipers and pads.
Can't for the life of me lock up the brakes.
Think I need to do some more bleedin.......
you set venting clearance??? .008? .006? .004??
bed in the pads???? (also important) which pads????
bleed, bed in the pads, and should be bueno
Venting clearance set at .006
Made some 40 mph runs and stomped on them.
I'll bleed them some more this week.....
I'm having the same problem. Put rebuilt calipers & new dics all a round with Porterfield R4S. Bleed, bleed, bleed, got speed bleeders, bleed, bleed, bleed, still have the air somewhere in system. Some say it's at the brake proportion valve, some say it's the master cylinder needs to be bench blead (I let the master cylinder go dry once when bleeding brakes). Seems like my problem is at the master cylinder, it's really spongy at the petal. But I've had this problem even before I put the new stuff on, since I got the car about 2 years ago.
Let me know if you find out what it is.
