914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Clutch cables, what' the difference?

Posted by: mr914 Jul 31 2003, 03:06 PM

I was talking with a fellow 914er today about clutch cables.

I did not know that there was a specific 914-6 cable. confused24.gif

What is the difference between the two? Are they interchangeable?

Thanks

if i'm not mistaken, one is a bit longer than the other.

Speaking from recent experience, the 914-4 cable is too long for a six installation, but it will work ok. It needs to be tie wrapped up in a couple of places. Since the sixes don't have a sump, the cable can go straight from the firewall to the bracket on the tranny so the cable is shorter.
