Posted by: Gint Sep 6 2005, 06:43 PM

So Kevin's gonna wuss out huh? I had to take two planes and drive 300+ miles.

Posted by: Bleyseng Sep 6 2005, 07:08 PM

Kevin is afraid of a little traffic........ chair.gif

Posted by: rhodyguy Sep 6 2005, 07:11 PM

go look at the news geoff and tell about how the traffic isn't THAT bad. of course, for a guy who wouldn't get on a ferry to make to a breakfast in bremerton, i can see your point. i come up if you WALK to alki. no offense mike.

I was outta town (Edmonton) when for the last breakfast was IIRC.

I am still just a wannabe as my engine is slowly coming back together........

Hell, I might just rollerblade over to Alki.....

To me bad traffic is that crap outside of Amsterdamn at 5 pm. Sit in your car for 2 hrs to move 3 miles..
Had to do that twice the last time I was there....effin The Ring to A10 To Bussum.

If dinner is open to just anybody, I'm in. I'm coming in on Wednesday mid-afternoon.

Mind if I join ya?

drive down, pick me up, and i'll attend.

k

Posted by: reverie Sep 6 2005, 09:24 PM

The more the merrier, db. smile.gif

I think the south end gang (Kevin, Dave, Al, et al) has attended most events we've had up in Seattle this year, along with a few north end and Seattle guys. After Duke's, we should try to have a south end or peninsula gtg.

Also, we sit upstairs on the deck not in the bar so under 21 types can join in. Plus the view is pretty nice of the water and the people walking by.

I'll call in a reservation at 4pm counting up all those who say they are coming.

Posted by: DNHunt Sep 8 2005, 07:02 AM

Damn that looks like fun. I coulda used a beer last night. Instead I was under the car hooking up everything (I hate CV lube) in hopes of having a running car for next Wednesday. I guess I should have asked about the date. It just proves the old saying "The only dumb question is the one you don't ask?".

Glad you guys had fun.

Dave

Posted by: DNHunt Sep 8 2005, 07:08 AM

Geoff

I'll be around since I'm not ready to drive it to Portland for their AX. It should be up and running tonight. I got all the underneath stuff done on the install yesterday so I'll hook up the cables in the enginecompartment this afternoon. Tuning will start today if I get the new laptop up and running. With luck it should have reasonable tune by Sunday.

Kevin I need to talk to you today

Dave

Man...I can't believe that. I thought the dinner was on for next Wednesday night as well seeing 9/14 in the title. I've already bought my ticket and the whole bit just for this get together and now I find out I'll be a week late?!

Next Wednesday might be a go after all? How long will Mueller be in town? Maybe we can have a double feature, Mueller and DB. laugh.gif

Chris

Posted by: reverie Sep 12 2005, 08:42 PM

Outdoor seating would be great, but anything with a view is good. It's going to be a nice day - 70 degrees and mostly cloudy - so we won't see much of a sunset, but it's always good to have a view.

Salty's entrees... aren't they $30 and up? blink.gif

Redondo... that's near Federal Way?

Posted by: spiritedTreiber Sep 12 2005, 11:27 PM

Hopefully we can all plan to go somewhere that is all ages, as I am only 20. biggrin.gif As long as its not too pricy, I'm in. Just need details.

My flight lands about 2:30 tomorrow afternoon so I'll have plenty of time to get wherever you guys decide. Just name the place and I'll find it (if its in Google).
Nothing fancy just some good food, no cuisine in particular.

Posted by: spiritedTreiber Sep 14 2005, 03:49 AM

Have fun boys. I hope the weather is as nice as it was last week.

Posted by: Bleyseng Sep 14 2005, 08:12 AM

Gint, where did you end up eating on Friday nite?? I heard you ended up dancing at the Vogue.....isn't Friday nite Goth nite? Musta been fun.

Posted by: reverie Sep 14 2005, 08:14 AM

Early morning thots.. or not:

We do have great fish and seafood here, and it would be nice if that's on the menu. But mostly a place with a range of prices for entree items, and preferably with a view. Duke's is just one place that fits that description. Are "minors" allowed on the deck? Jim, you look old enough. It sucks being old enough to be drafted or cast a vote or serve on a jury, and not old enough to have beer or wine.

The only problem with Salty's is their entree prices, Kev, and as much as I love salad every day, that ain't some people's idea of food. I wish we could think of a south-end place (this is way overdue as we all know), and we could really use more ideas, that's all. Please forgive me for not being clear about that.

I'll shut up now..

Posted by: Bleyseng Sep 14 2005, 08:20 AM

at Dukes you have to be 21 to go upstairs....

I checked out the Pizza place, Pegasus last night as we went for a walk and hit the Alki Bakery for a goodie fix.
The pizza place does have outside seating, maybe Chris Reale with chime in as he used to work there.

Posted by: reverie Sep 14 2005, 08:38 AM

Fine with me, boss. smile.gif

Posted by: DNHunt Sep 14 2005, 08:40 AM

I wish I knew the area better so I could help with the decision. Pizza, seafood or whatever is fine. By the time you're throught with it, it's all the same stromberg.gif. Somebody make a decision. This is worse than watching the F1 crews decide on rain tires.

Great to see everyone!

Thanks to all for coming by to see my teener on the operating table.

Dave's new engine sounds great.

Interesting make-up of attendees:

Atlanta, GA
Vancouver BC, Canada
Puyallup, WA
Gig Harbor, WA
Seattle, WA
Seattle, WA

The replacement motor will hopefully be in Seattle in about 10 days.

The suggestion was made to put on a work party to install the replacement engine.

I'll provide the food and drink.

Anyone interested?

Thanks

Eddie

the ram stinks. worst b-fast i ever walked out on. LOUD ALL THE TIME. my thought would be more like fine dining in greenwater @ 8 on a sunny sat or sun. then up 410.

SIXNOTFOUR,

steam clean the underside of the engine or the underside of the car?

I'm close to being able to pull the engine.

Then it's cleaning time.

I just checked with the trucking company.

The replacement engine is scheduled to arrive in Seattle on 09/22/05.

Lots to do before then!

Maybe a little C.I Shenanigan's would be up your alley then Kev. Not too bad on the pricey side if I can afford it. Nice view too.

It was real fun meeting up with all you guys. It was even better watching people staring at the 914's as they walked past. biggrin.gif Gotta do it more often!

Eddie, whenever you get ready to do the workparty throw up the post. Sounds like that will be just as fun. Looking forward to it.
