914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Replacing single Webber carb...

Posted by: RD Evans Aug 2 2003, 10:09 PM

My '74 1.8 has a single Webber carb and I would like to replace it with dual carbs. I don't want to throw a ton of money into the conversion because I have other engine plans in the next 12-18 months. Any suggestions on the the most affordable route to dual carbs and will making the change really improve the 1.8 that much?

I ran across this setup at CB Performance http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=1214. What do you guys think of this setup?

one thing about cb's "complete" kit... where's the bracket that holds the throttle cable? THERE ISN'T ONE!!! nice when you open the box.

it's weird how no-one has heard of gemvw, but yet they are cheaper than CB performance. also try California import parts. i payed 500 for my 44's and hex linkage.
