my buddy just bought an 83 944 with A/T and I can't for the life of me find the dipstick to check the transmission fluid. is there one? and where?
and where do you fill it? thanks in advance.............

No dibstick...

No dibstick in any trani AFAIK...

just a plug hole on the side that you put your finger in to check....

how do you check fluid level on an auto?

Almost every automatic trans has a dipstick.

In the case of the 944, there is a supply tank. The oil level should be between the marks on the tank when hot and idling.
