i agree, even if you call them "custom side skirts" ...

i do, however, still like the shaved turn signal tunnels; i keep wondering what was going through the minds of the VW/Karmann design group when they decided the car looked best with them on...

actually, i know the answer smile.gif

just read through "Das Grosse VW-Porsche Buch" ...

the reason was, because the car was pretty low to begin with,
to get the turn-signals as high as possible so people could actually see them.

yepp, that's what the designer had to say in the book.
