IMCDb doesn't list the 914 at all.. but they list the movie LeMans. And we all know that there is a 914 in that movie.

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?make=porsche&model=914&resultsStyle=asImages

Maybe we should all do some submitting to update the database? rocking nana.gif

Funny that you mentioned the movie LeMans, just watched it for the umptenth time last week. Should be a standard 914 trivia question:

How many times do they show the white 914 getting passed?

Posted by: ClayPerrine Oct 4 2005, 03:39 PM

Here's the link to the LeMans page....

my wife actually spotted a 914 in a movie the other night and called me into the room to see it. "Roxanne"

maybe someon is bored and wants to extract the 914's from the list, so that we have our own list? idea.gif

Posted by: cooltimes Oct 4 2005, 04:48 PM

I am surprised that no one thought of the best 914 represented movie that had many, many 914's in it.

Top of the page below title, a few videos and even Damp Dave is a movie star. LOL

History lesson here. A lot of them do run and don't you forget it. LOL

The movie Lifeguard, starring Sam Elliot as a lifeguard shows a Porsche dealership in southern California about 1975,or 76. For about ten seconds you get to see one 914 in the showroom ,and some out the window on the dealer's parking lot. It was very cool to see them as new. My wife called me the other day too, to see a yellow 914 in the movie Roxanne, I missed it.

There's a quick shot of a 914 in Parallax View - a wierd 70s conspiracy movie with Warren Beatty. After he steals a police car and it gets covered with mud he charges through a parking lot, past the 914 and then crashes into a grocery store. Don't blink or you'll miss it.

Posted by: ws91420 Oct 5 2005, 10:26 PM

Hey post a message in their forum of 914 sightings in movies and tv and they will add them. I posted about Intolerable Cruelty and its there now.

Posted by: mikey Nov 27 2005, 02:07 PM

Opening shot of Silver Streak has a silver 914 following the cab that Gene Wilder is in arriving at Los Angeles Union Station.

It's just starting on INHD2 today. Don't blink or it's gone.

The white 914-6GT is now sitting in Hergesheimers shop in Mission Viejo.
Its been sitting there for over a year.
The rear brakes froze up the last time the owner tried to pull it off the trailer for a car show.
Every time I go to Hergesheimers I just stare at it.
What a piece of history.
I wonder what that cars worth??

Could be a nice collectible. I heard the 911 Steve McQueen drove in the opening scene is in Jerry Seinfelds Porsche collection.

Do I need a big $$$ soft that bypasses security??? confused24.gif

You should be able to capture a still on your PC, if your PC has a DVD player. The Ulead software that came with my DVD burner will capture stills.

Here's a few I captured.

The stoners might have missed this in Cheech & Chong - Up in Smoke.

Rancid Aluminium - a terrible UK film. The 914 features quite heavily as it is the main character's ride.

That was a 914? Wow... I remember seeing that show but I didn't remember a 914. (Must have had something to do with watching those Cheech y Chong movies, I suppose.)

Don't forget "Gumball Rally" from 1976. The 914 is a 1974 Porsche 914-4.

This is from the http://www.leifgarrett.net/memphisappeal.html:

"In 1979, when he was in his late teens, Garrett and his friend Roland Winkler were in Garrett's Porsche 911 when it rear-ended another car and shot over a freeway embankment. "We were friends. And we were both really high. And for some reason we didn't take his car that night. We took my car and ended up getting in a crash and he ended up paralyzed. It's a horrible thing. It was three days before my 18th birthday."

I know Ice-T used to have a 914, and so did Anne B. Davis (from the brady bunch).

Isn't there a white one in the Jerk? I think it's visable when Steve Martin gets dropped off at the gas station.

I'm not an expert, but one option is to use the 'Cyberlink PowerDVD' application which has a 'frame capture' feature. List price is $60 but you can get it for $10 at www.software outlet.com

I'd love to see a collection of all of the 914 movie scenes!

A red 914 is driven by a pretty young lady in the UFO episode "The Psychobombs" from @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=12162 . The producers thought it would make a good car to see on the road 10 years in the future.
